Let's PARRRRRRRRRRRRRTY!

The pretty, party girls. Wow what a day. Read on for a good laugh and more about Katelyns party.
This little bad boy is Katelyn's birthday party invitation. I put some hot pink glitter on the crown and some black glitter on the mask. It turned out so cute. The glitter added so much. This is Katelyn's last year for a big birthday bash so I wanted to make it perfect for her. Her colors were hot pink, white and black. I wrapped the table in the cutest black and white wrapping paper. I wrapped her presents in coordinating wrapping paper with different kinds of bows. I then went around my house in search of items I could use on the table to showcase everything.

THE CAKE UGGHHHH.... Here is a picture of the cake I wanted to make. I took it down to Grandma Julies house to show everyone and my sister in law Whitney started to laugh. I know I'm not a chef by any means of the imagination, but I really thought I could do it. Whitney had to tell me the name of the stuff that makes the cake so smooth and where I could buy it. Well I started to second guess myself and thought I would pay someone to make it. They wanted $300 dollars for a cake. Hello you eat it and poop it out. I couldn't even think about pooping out $300 dollars. So I jumped in bought the crap and brewed up the cake.

Here is my cake I made for Katelyn (below).

Are you just dying. I put the cakes in the refrigerator overnight, brought them out the next day and started with the smooth crap I can't even remember the name of. (Which turned my hand black and then purple, which is the color it remained for about a week.) Decided I didn't have all day to mess with the smooth crap and ran to the grocery store to by frosting. Started to frost the cake then added each layer. By the time I got to the top it started to leannnnnnnnn. So I tried to very carefully push it back on top. Then is started to crumble, so I added more frosting. Which started to gloop and slide down the side of the cake. My friend Heidi came to see my creation and when she stopped laughing came up with an idea to use a knife to prop it up. You can see the knife if you look at the picture of Katelyn blowing out her candles. Anyway, Katelyn felt so bad for me because I worked on it, and planned it for so long just to have it ooze down in back. She came up with a story to tell everyone so I wouldn't feel bad. She told her friends she was dancing and did a kick and accidentally hit the cake. Is that the sweetest thing. I couldn't let her take the fall for my failure so I came clean. I told her she has a great story to tell her kids one day. Did I mention her invitations were so cute.

I cannot cook and sometimes I cannot bake, but I think I can decorate.

Just in vision what the cake could have looked like.

Look close you can see the knife in the back. I do love this picture of Katelyn blowing out her candles.

Katelyn's girlfriends had her wrapped up just like a present.

All the left over Halloween candy was gone in seconds. I think Bailey ate a whole bag by herself. Where does that girl put it. She must have a hollow leg.

Shayla's mom Cindy made this sign for Katelyn and gave it to her along with a present. The sign was to die for. WE LOVED IT. I put the sign to very good use. Of course I hung it up and took the girls pictures in front of it. You can order one for any occasion just go to http://www.cindesignsblog.blogspot.com/ or just click on the link. Thank you Shayla and Cindy it was AWESOME.

Notice the sign in the back.

There were 16 girls invited to the party and 15 who could come. We only had one broken ankle, (which turned out to be a bad sprain thank goodness.) 5 devoured pizzas, 2 gallons of pop gone, 1 goopy cake eaten, (they all said it tasted great. YEA.) 3 big bags of candy eaten, wrapping paper all over creation, 1 big hole in the wall, noise level above 89 decimals, 15 smiley faces, 100 pictures taken, oh ya can't forget cops called and sent out to church location. (NO Lie). 2 scary boys smokin SOMETHIN. 1 adult to handle all these situations, the party was 7 hours long, a movie, the game fugitive, presents, laughter, so much fun. Whew. I'm done.

Happy 13th Birthday Katelyn November 3, 2009

Happy 13th Birthday Bugs.

Yes, I'm finally posting Katelyn's (now a teenager pictures). Katelyn is truly the best daughter. She is so loving and helpful. I thank God every day. He blessed our lives by sending her to us. We have so much fun together and I love that she lets me hang around with her and all her fun girlfriends.
I can't believe she is a teenager. She very rarely has those teen age moments and when she does they are usually provoked. Wow. Where did the time go.
Looking back through the years, here is a list of Katelyn's top 10 favorite things.
1. Teletubbies. He O. I could not stand them, but she absolutely loved them and I had to watch them every morning. Ugh. How I lived through that I will never know.
2. Bugs. She loved bugs. Bugs of any shape and species. This is how she came by her nick name Katie bugs. You would always see her with some kind of bug crawling on her or in her hands. Yes, even holding a snake. YIKES (Sometimes I wonder where she came from.)
3. Her Daddy. From the first moment he put on her little Dallas Cowboy onesie, she has been a fan. She knows she has her dad wrapped around her little finger.
4. Friends. She has always been a social butterfly. She loves her friends and can't ever have enough.
5. Steak with soy sauce. Her very favorite meal.
6. Animals. She loves animals and her dream finally came true last Christmas when Santa (the old goon) finally brought her a dog and she named him Frosty.
7. Hawaii. She absolutely loves swimming and sunbathing. Okay just swimming she was born a fish.
8. Ice Cream. Katelyn loves ice cream. Even though it makes her stomach deathly sick to eat it. She loves it.
9. Softball. She looks forward to warmer weather so she can play softball. If you ask her there is nothing better then hearing 1..2..3 strikes your OUT. She is a pitcher for her softball team.
10. Entrepreneur. Katelyn loves starting up new businesses. Her latest adventure is Lady Bug Retreat day spa. Believe it or not it's been a success. Thanks to all her many friends. I admit she is really good at doing acrylic nails. I will post a picture later. I have been impressed.
Katelyn is the light and joy of my life. I love her very much she is such a great daughter. She is very good about helping me with my photography business, even though I drive her completely nuts. Thanks Katelyn for being you.

Yes, More Halloween

I've been working hard and have finally found a little time to update my blog. Here is a little more Halloween. I had to post Chases' pumpkin because it took us so long to carve. He loved how it turned out. Next year, I swear I'll be buying paint and painting the face on. Katelyn was the Halloween Queen with her awesome skirt. ( I must admit I love the skirt.) Chase was a 3 Musketeer and I was Maid Marion from Robin Hood. I wanted Chase to be Robin Hood so we could match. Well you can see who got his way. I thought he looked so cute in his Musketeer costume. I just love Halloween.

More witches.

It's a tradition to go to witches night with my mom, sister and her family but they couldn't go that night. We barely squeezed it in before Halloween but we made it. Here are a few more pictures of my family at Gardners Village. I made Katelyn and Anna matching skirts. I have to admit they were soooo cute. I had people ask me wear I bought them! I told them I made them and they asked if I made them for people. I said no, then Katelyn came up to me and told me I should have said yes. I could have made a lot of money. Let me just start another little project in all of my spare time. Ya Right. The pictures don't do the skirts justice. They were all glittery and sparkly. Perfect for Halloween.

Chase wanted to dress-up to. Can you tell what he went as? A mighty hunter of course.

I love this picture of my Mom and Anna. I wish my sister would just hand her over. We would have so much fun. I'm her favorite Aunt. He, He.

Witches at Gardners Village

Katelyn and Allison met up with two more cute little sister witches, Kristen and Shayla.

I had to take a picture of some of the people who wanted to know if they worked there. They wanted to take their picture. So funny.

The girls got their make-up done and the costume was complete.

Every year we go to the witches at Gardners Village. We have such a good time eating fudge and shopping in all the little stores. It is the cutest place all decorated with Halloween fun. This year for witches night Katelyn and her friend Allison dressed up. The weather was sunny and beautiful. It was so funny because people thought they worked there they looked so cute. Diffrent people would stop them and ask if they could take their picture. It was starting to get old, when this Grandpa asked if the could take their picture with his Grandson. They said sure and he called over the cutest boy their age. Both girls faces lit up. It was priceless.

Underwater Adventure

Katelyn

Chase

I have been so busy that I haven't even had time to post some of the fun pictures I took this summer. So I'm going to do it randomly. I've tried to stay in order of events. I've gotten really behind. These were taken in Sept. with my new underwater gear for my camera. This is my pool. No, no, just dreaming. My friend Paisley invited us over to her sisters pool and we had such a great time. Thanks Kristen and Paisley we had so much fun. My friends got a big kick out of me wearing my fun goggles. It made it so much easier to see under water. Can't wait to try the gear out again. On a bright, sunshiny day.

Cheerleading Reunion

Pictured from left to right: Mindy Shipp, Stefanee Durfee, Jimilyn Bunker, Tina Crowe, Gina Nielson and Suzie Simkins. The names alone bring back memories.

My cheer leading reunion was so much fun. We had a great time visiting with each other. I had not seen some of these girls since I graduated from high school. (Which wasn't really that long ago.) For those of you that didn't make it. We missed you. Thank you to Jimilyn, Nanette and Stefanee for finding everyone and getting it put together. We should do it every year. Even if it was hard to get away. Pictured above: Tina Crowe Palmer, Amy Leavitt Hansen, Stefanee Durfee Glass, Suzanna Simkins Higginson. I wish I could have gotten a picture with everyone. Maybe next year.

Katelyns New, Pink, Beach Cruiser June 2009

Katelyn, Bailey (Katelyn's friend) and I went to this cute boutique in June. We had so much fun seeing all the jewelry, hair bows, clothes and the cutest Beach Cruisers you've ever seen. So I bought one for Katelyn on the spot (she really needed a bike.) I needed Dans truck to get it home so I went to Scottie's house to pick it up and thought I would buy myself one too. Mine is cream and pink. After Katelyn and I rode all around Salem everyone was asking where we bought it. Katelyn's Aunt Abbie ended up buying one a couple months later. Hers is blue. They are so cute. If you want to get one call Scottie's Cruiser's or you can google it for the number. They come in all colors. I can't wait to take them to Bear Lake next year. We had a great time in June taking these pictures. I'm so far behind on posting. Oh Well. I will eventually get caught up someday.
